WARNING: The following article is no longer applicable as the CloudFlare cPanel plugin relies on the cPanel API v1, which is deprecated. CloudFlare has, in turn, deprecated this plugin. Thus the CloudFlare cPanel plugin is no longer available. For domains that use Cloudflare name servers, you can edit DNS records in your Cloudflare account. Learn how to edit Cloudflare-managed DNS at https://developers.cloudflare.com/dns/manage-dns-records/how-to/create-dns-records
Before integrating your domain or website with Cloudflare global network, please do ensure that the domain you are trying to add is not already tied to another Cloudflare account.
This generally happens to users who signed up to Cloudflare through a different hosting provider, and then try to sign up with a different account.
You must remove the domain from the old account before adding it with the steps below:
To remove the domain from the old account:
1. Log in to the Cloudflare account that the domain was originally added to.
2. Go to Settings for the domain.
3. Go to DNS settings.
4. Remove the connection to the hosting provider using the red button. If you are unable to do that, please contact the Cloudflare support team.
If this is a virgin integration (you do not have an existing account for the domain on the Cloudflare network), then:
1. log in to your cPanel server
2. Scroll down the Security section.
3. Follow the steps to complete the integration.
At a minimum, you should make sure CloudFlare is enabled for your domain's www CNAME record.
To do this, follow these steps:
The Cloudflare WordPress plugin helps get the original IP addresses from visitors commenting on your customer's site.
That's done automatically in the cPanel plugin.
There is something else worth noting: the CloudFlare network only proxies web traffic on ports 80 (non-secure HTTP) and 443 (secure HTTPS). Therefore, to prevent possible performance issues, you should not enable CloudFlare for any of the following subdomains:
You can see how Cloudflare treats incoming traffic at https://developers.cloudflare.com/dns/manage-dns-records/reference/proxied-dns-records to see what subdomains are appropriate for orange/gray clouds.
To disable CloudFlare, click the "Use Cloudflare" that is set to OFF to turn CloudFlare off for the specific domain.
