To configure a mail client for your cPanel email address, follow these steps. You can find all the necessary information by navigating to: cPanel >> Email >> Set Up Mail Client

Pre-requirements

  • An existing cPanel email account (if you haven't created one yet, follow the steps below).

Step 1: Create an Email Account

Before proceeding, ensure you have created the email account:

  1. Log in to your cPanel dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Email >> Email Accounts.
  3. Click Create an Email Account and fill in the required fields.

Step 2: Choose SMTP Ports and Security Settings

Our system supports the following SMTP ports:

  • Port 465: Secure SSL/TLS connection.
  • Port 587: Secure Transport Layer Security (TLS) connection (recommended).

Note: Port 25 is blocked due to the risk of abuse. Use Port 465 or 587 for secure connections.

Step 3: Access Email Configuration Settings

  1. Select the email address you wish to configure.
  2. Click on the email address to open its configuration settings.
  3. You will see both secure (SSL/TLS) and non-secure options for connecting to your mail server.
  4. Recommendation: Use the secure SSL/TLS settings for better security.

Step 4: Automatic Mail Client Configuration

  1. To automate the configuration process, select your mail client from the list under Protocols.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions, then click Proceed.
  3. The system will attempt to download a configuration script. When prompted, select Run or Open.
  4. Your mail client will open and log in to your email account automatically.

Step 5: Manual Configuration

If you prefer to configure your mail client manually, you can use the provided settings in cPanel to set up your client manually.
