You can delegate access to a user's calendars by visiting the Calendar feature found in the cPanel interface (cPanel >> Home >> Email >> Calendar Delegation). This feature is particularly useful for administrators and allows you to:

  • Create an account for a resource (e.g., a conference room) and allow others to reserve it.
  • Enable a manager to view their subordinates' calendars.
  • Allow an assistant to manage a manager's calendar.

How to Set Up Calendars and Contacts in cPanel

Here’s the information you might need for setup:

  • Server: example.com:2080
  • User Name: example or user@example.com
  • Password: some_great_password (e.g., m@]n%3pi8F=r8p5xJP}+)
  • Description: My Calendars

Setting Up Calendar and Contact Applications on iOS

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Passwords & Accounts.
  3. Under ACCOUNTS, tap Add Account.
  4. Tap Other.

Now, perform one of the following actions:

  • Under CONTACTS, tap Add CardDav Account to add a calendar account.
  • Under CALENDARS, tap Add CalDav Account to add a contacts account.

Complete the setup by entering your information in the appropriate text boxes. Remember to add port 2080 at the end of the server's hostname (e.g., example.com:2080).

Setting Up Calendar and Contact Applications on macOS

For latest macOS, Catalina, El Capitan, Sierra, High Sierra, and Mojave:

  1. Click Launchpad, then click System Preferences.
  2. Click Internet Accounts.
  3. Click Add Other Account.
  4. Select CalDAV Account for a calendar account or CardDAV Account for a contacts account.
  5. Click Create.

Complete the setup by entering your information in the appropriate text boxes. For calendar accounts, select Automatic from the Account Type menu.

Using Other Calendar or Contacts Applications

If you’re using other applications that support CalDAV and CardDAV protocols, you can access your calendars and contacts from them. The steps may vary, but you'll need to enter the following information:

  • Username: Your cPanel account user or webmail user.
    • cPanel account user: example
    • Webmail user: user@example.com
  • Server: The full URL to the user's calendar or contacts.
  • Password: The cPanel account or webmail user's password.

You can find this information in cPanel's Calendars and Contacts interface (cPanel >> Home >> Email >> Calendars and Contacts).
