Your order is still in "Pending" status because it hasn't been accepted yet. Sometimes, our system flags an order or payment for further review if something appears suspicious.
Even if the payment has been successfully completed, if we suspect fraud, we will refund the payment and cancel the order. We also manually review all payments over $1,000 made with a prepaid card.
Here are some key factors we consider when reviewing an order or payment:
- Does the billing address match the billing address matches the IP address, email logs, and usage logs?
- Has the billing address been verified by AVS?We verify the billing address through Address Verification System (AVS) checks and ensure it matches the card's country of origin.
- Does the CVC, street address, and postal code all have the right digital sound? We confirm that these details align with the cardholder's information.
- Does the email address matches the cardholder's name?
- Is the email addresses or credit card flagged by our anti-fraudulent machine learning system? We look for any flags in our anti-fraud machine learning system, including suspicious email addresses or credit cards.
- Are there certain features or user behaviors that you perceive to be riskier (e.g., use of a disposable email)? We assess if certain features or behaviors, like the use of a disposable email, present a higher risk.
If we're uncertain about a payment, we may contact you by phone or email as part of our "Know Your Customer" (KYC) process. Providing a reachable phone number can expedite this process.
While phone or email confirmation isn't foolproof, it helps us put things into perspective and maintain accurate records. If any payments appear fraudulent, we refund them and report the case to our payment processors and legal authorities to prevent potential issues.
